Democrats lost the Virginia Governor's election, and will keep losing

The projections for the Virginia Governor's election are in:

Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia governor's race Tuesday night, CNN projects, rolling back progressive gains in Virginia as he became the first Republican to win statewide office in the commonwealth since 2009.

McAuliffe's loss in a state that President Joe Biden won by double digits last year showed the enormous challenges that Democrats are facing next year as they attempt to maintain control of the US House and Senate. McAuliffe, who served as governor from 2014 to 2018 in a state that does not allow successive terms, had struggled to find a message that would galvanize Democrats at a time when Biden's approval ratings have sagged and the party has been unable to deliver a clear message amid bickering over the President's agenda in Congress.

[...]

Late Tuesday night, Youngkin was exceeding the performance of the previous Republican gubernatorial candidate four years ago and also significantly outperforming Trump's margins in the Virginia suburbs, which had been trending increasingly Democratic. McAuliffe's margins, by contrast, fell below the tallies in previous contests of Biden and Virginia's current Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, in key areas throughout the state.

[...]

Without a tangible achievement to point to from Democratic-controlled Washington, McAuliffe didn't hide his frustration. He demanded that members of Congress "do your job and quit the posturing," in an interview with CNN.

I saw in the media that they are blaming this on the lack of major legislation that has been passed in Congress. That probably contributed to this result, no doubt. But they are overlooking the real reason. They are overlooking the reason that is so obvious to every single average American.

The reason no one bothers to vote for the Democratic Party? They are unwilling to enforce the laws against the political party that organized a coup attempt and tried to overthrow our government. They are unwilling to enforce the laws against the political party which continuously reaffirms that they view the coup as a valid strategy to hold on to power. They are unwilling to enforce the laws against a political party who has openly promised "bloodshed" against us and is promising to carry out another coup in the future.

Ever since the surprising loss in the Presidential election in 2016, American citizens have clearly said that the Democratic Party is losing ground because they are out of touch and have abandoned the needs of regular Americans. The politicians have heard us, for sure. It is easy to imagine them as wealthy elites who never leave their gated neighborhood and old codgers who don't even know what an internet is, but the staffers of these politicians consist of many young people who are truly aware of the attitudes and views of young and non-elite Americans. The politicians have heard us, and they know why they are really losing.

At this point, the Democratic Party has not just passively abandoned us--they are actively betraying us by refusing to enforce the laws against the political party which committed literal treason and attempted to overthrow the government itself.

Why the hell would any of us go to vote for this party when they appear to be controlled opposition??? Life gets worse for us after every election, no matter who is in power. At some point, the difference between the lesser of the two evils and the greater of the two evils is so small that this sort of metaphor isn't enough to begrudgingly get people to the polls.

As the media correctly points out, the results of the Virginia Governor's race are important, because they are a taste of what is to come. Trumpists are still as strong and energetic as ever. And Democrat voters are just as demoralized as ever. Congress is split almost evenly in both the House and the Senate. With results like these, which party do you think will gain the upper hand after the November 2022 midterms...?

There is a way forward for the Democratic Party to inspire voters, but the party seems more and more unwilling to do it each passing day. We DEMAND justice against all of the traitors within the Republican Party who attempted to overthrow our government by attempting to steal the 2020 election. The politicians in the Republican Party who supported the insurrection and coup attempt should have been kicked out of Congress due to the 14th Amendment, but the Democrats don't even have the will to do something as basic as that... Of course they are going to lose elections if they are unwilling to do their job and enforce some of the most basic and clear parts of the Constitution.

Yet, as terrible as democracy is, it is what we currently have. Getting demoralized and not voting at this moment in history will be disastrous for Americans. As soon as the Republican Party retakes control of the government, they will carry out another self-coup and attempt to overthrow the government entirely once more. So, anyone who reads this blog and agrees with the opinions expressed here needs to go and vote.

It is most important to vote in election primaries, in order to replace the traitors in the Democratic Party with people who courageously challenge the status quo of the party and demand that justice be dealt. It is also highly important to vote in state-level elections, although they are rarely hyped as much as national elections.

A grassroots movement gets its strength from the bottom up, and we must never forget there are millions of others who think just like us. We just have to get involved in the system to actually get things done. And we should never forget that many Americans who are willing to do their duty have been elected not too long ago. Rashida Tlaib heroically demanded Trump be impeached the very first day a non-treasonous majority got sworn into Congress in January 2019 (which was also her first day in Congress). Ilhan Omar, another heroic American who was among the first politicians to ever call out Congress's crooked obedience to the apartheid state of Israel, also started in Congress in 2019. Eric Swalwell, who demanded a Crimes Commission to root out the corruption in the Trump administration, only joined Congress in 2013.

You could join them one day, so long as you participate in the system, rather than getting discouraged and dropping out completely (like Republicans and "establishment" Democrats want you to do).

We get discouraged because no matter if Republicans or Democrats are in office, life keeps getting worse. We get discouraged because the Democratic Party tells us to vote, and then nothing ever changes for the better. We get discouraged because brain-dead political activists tell us to write to our politicians, which never changes their minds on anything (you know, since regular people don't have a few million dollars in bribes campaign funds laying around like the lobbyists do).

What they don't want to tell you is that you can run for office yourself. What they don't want you to believe is that you are infinitely more qualified than 99% of the people currently in Congress. Yes. You are more qualified than them. Even if you have no experience in politics, as long as you are willing to enforce the law and not be a traitor to the American Dream, you are infinitely more qualified than them. "Experience" did not help Hilary Clinton beat Donald Trump. Many of the most "experienced" politicians (e.g. Pelosi, Biden, McConnell) are the most corrupt! All you need is a willingness to serve American citizens as a whole rather than the wealthy elite.

Yes. You are qualified not only to run for office, but to win elections. There is evidence that Republicans may even be hiring literal actors to run for office. Lauren Boebert was a high school drop out and only got a GED months before being elected. Ffs, TRUMP got elected to the office of PRESIDENCY! Literally all you have to do to get elected is go out there and tell the people what they need to hear.

If Trump and all these other literal con-men can do it, a sincere American like you can as well.

The way for the Democratic Party to start winning elections is for people like us to run, and for people like us to inspire Americans by telling them what they need to hear: we will hold ALL of the traitors in the Republican Party responsible to the fullest extent of the law (and all of the traitors in the Democratic Party who have broken the law by covering up their corruption and enabling them). This kind of change isn't going to come from the corrupt, "experienced" mainstream of the Democratic Party.

We will replace them.

But in order to do so, we have to show up and engage in the system. Both the Republicans and corrupt "mainstream" Democrats want us to become discouraged and drop out entirely.
