Trump expects to be arrested and calls for a civil war (again)

As a call to arms a month before the January 6th Insurrection, Trump told his followers they needed to stage a "wild" protest.

Back in January 2022, Trump declared that if he was arrested for his crimes, his followers needed to launch "the biggest protest we have ever had" in cities all across the US. (And he would pardon them once they put him back in power). In the aftermath of the "wild protests" of the Insurrection, the only way this "protest" could possibly interpreted is a call for civil war.

Now, Trump has announced he expects to be arrested soon, and once again called for a "protest" to "take the nation back". In other words, he has again called for a civil war.

"Donald Trump has posted on his platform Truth Social that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday in the criminal case in New York involving hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

[...]

But without any official confirmation, Trump, who is running for the Republican , posted a message, referring to himself in the third person, saying: “The far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.”

[...]

There has been no public announcement of any timeframe or any indictment.

A spokesperson and a lawyer for Trump said later on Saturday that his post was based on media reports rather than any actual update from, or communication with, prosecutors. Trump’s post cited “illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office”."

Immediately, the (illegally-serving) Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy jumped to defend Trump, by promising to obstruct justice.

"Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy is well aware how much he owes his current position to former President Donald Trump. “I do want to especially thank President Trump,” McCarthy told reporters in January, after finally gaining enough votes to win the speaker’s gavel. “I don’t think anyone should doubt his influence. He was with me from the beginning.”

That indebtedness — or at least perceived indebtedness — helps explain McCarthy’s cowardly response on Saturday to the looming threat of indictment that Trump faces in New York City. A few hours after Trump claimed he would be arrested on Tuesday, McCarthy called Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into Trump’s alleged hush money payments to Stormy Daniels “an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump.”

McCarthy's wading into an ongoing criminal investigation is bad enough. But the California Republican added a bit of extra spice to try to keep up the façade that he’s just doing his job as speaker. “I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions,” McCarthy wrote. Arguably not his best work as far as fig leaves go.

His tweet is clearly a political threat in the guise of apolitical concern-trolling."

The District Attorney apparently saw the Republican threats as credible enough to release an internal memo reassuring employees they would remain safe.

"Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg offered a private retort to Donald Trump’s message Saturday urging supporters to protest his expected indictment, telling office employees in an email that “we do not tolerate attempts to intimidate our office or threaten the rule of law in New York,” according to a copy obtained by POLITICO.

“Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” Bragg wrote, adding that the office has been coordinating with the New York Police Department and Office of Court Administration, the administrative arm of the court system in New York.

Bragg added that “as with all of our investigations, we will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly, and speak publicly only when appropriate.” In his email, Bragg didn’t identify Trump by name, referring only to the “public comments surrounding an ongoing investigation by this office.”"

If Trump gets arrested it's important to keep in mind that there isn't a cause for celebration just yet.

• Firstly, he is going to be charged for his role in the Stormy Daniels illegal use of campaign funds debacle. He is not being charged for attempting to rig the 2020 election results in Georgia or the Insurrection and coup attempt.

• Secondly, he should have already been arrested for this. His lawyer, Michael Cohen, served 3 years in prison from 2018-2021 for this very crime. It has long been established that Trump was the "Individual-1" who directed Cohen to pay the money. The corrupt Department of "Justice" even tried to cover up Trump's involvement in the case, and refrained from bringing charges against him earlier.

He is 5 years overdue for arrest on this, and over 2 years overdue on being arrested for coup-related crimes...

• Thirdly, an arrest means nothing. He needs to be found guilty and convicted for the crime.

• Fourthly, if he is found guilty his lawyers will certainly appeal, and who knows what will happen to the case. If it goes to the Trumpist Supreme court, his illegitimate appointees will certainly not recuse themselves from hearing the case, so justice may never be dealt.

• Fifthly, if he is not soon charged AT MINIMUM for his attempt to rig the election results in Georgia, AND charged with sedition for his role in kicking off a coup attempt, AND charged with espionage for his theft of top secret documents, then there has been a miscarriage of justice and intentional coverup by the so-called Justice Department. Charges for these crimes may not necessarily come at the same time, but if they simply try to charge him with some financial crime and then call it a day, then the so-called Justice Department will have done more to cover up Trump's crimes than his own appointees (such as Bill Barr)!

• Sixthly, even if Trump is convicted of ALL the crimes he is responsible for, he was far from the only one involved in bringing the coup attempt into reality. 147 Republican politicians voted to overthrow the government on January 6th. Multiple lawyers (such as John Eastman) wrote coup memos outlining how the coup should take place. Multiple Republican-controlled state legislatures tried to overturn the results and play their role in the wide-reaching seditious conspiracy. And much more.

• Seventhly, let's not forget that the so-called Justice Department and the Democratic Party allowed ALL Republican politicians who voted to overthrow the government to serve another term in Congress...

Trump's coup attempt failed, but Republicans successfully took control of the House of Representatives, despite being Constitutionally ineligible. That was a successful coup, completely allowed and enabled by the Biden administration and Democratic "leaders" in Congress.

• Lastly, EVEN IF all of the above players in the attempt to overthrow the US government are put in prison or executed for treason, there are tens of millions of die-hard Trumpers who will remain dangerous for the rest of their lives.

Even if they do not rise up now for Trump's call to civil war, they will work their way up into positions of power in police forces, local government, state government, the legal system, the military, and the federal government, and decades from now we will face a very similar crisis.

...And even if they DO answer Trump's orders, and are defeated in the civil war, they will still work their way up into these positions (just as former Confederates did), unless they are ruthlessly removed from society.

I hope all left-wing and non-treasonous Americans have prepared ourselves by (legally) acquiring firearms so we can defend ourselves against the violence Trump has repeatedly called for over the years.

If not, they will gladly slaughter you without a second thought.
